The name 7 Diamonds is a reference to the playing card and it’s chosen because of the middle part of the blanket. The original blanket (picture on cover) was made with three colourchanging balls of yarn, which were cut into many different pieces. The orange pieces were used for the diamonds in the middle, the white pieces and dark turquoise pieces for the traingles and then the remainder was used to crochet the two diagonal stripey bits.
I didn’t feel like cutting up so many balls of yarns, so I’ve made the blanket with approximately the same colours (see picture to the left). I’ve used Katia Merino Basic, which cosists of 52% scheerwol and 48% acrylic, it comes in balls of 50 gram with 120 meter on it. It’s machine washable and you can even put it in the dryer! Ideal for a family blanket.
Two other colour variants have been made, one with Scheepjes Colour Crafter and one (with yellow) in Zeeman Julia yarn.
