This patch work style design consists of 9 squares plus two side bands or edgings. Five of the squares are worked in a simple 10 row zig zig pattern using a single colour. The other four squares use both the zig zag pattern plus a simple ten row, two colour graph. The two side bands, which give a nice edge to the rug are also worked in the zigzag pattern. This is an ideal project for someone who has developed basic knitting skills or for someone who doesn’t like heavy pieces of knitting on their needles and prefers knitting smaller pieces.
