Welcome to the seventh Hook to Hook pattern, published in January 2021. We are in a severe lockdown due to corona virus at the moment. Staying home has almost become normal and lots of people are getting bored. I use this time to design and crochet new blankets. I have a stack of blankets waiting to be turned into crochet patterns for you! A lovely, time consuming job that I do with pleasure for those who buy the PDF’s. Thank you!

This beautiful crochet pattern is made in repetitive squares. Each square has 4 strips and one tiny square in the middle. The strips are 5 blocks high and 10 long, the square in the middle is 5 by 5 blocks. The blanket features a total of 30 of these squares: 5 wide and 6 long. You don’t have to sew a thing, each square is made straight onto the previous one. The blanket is made in the corner to corner technique

You can make this crochet pattern with the material of your choice. When you’re choosing, it’s important to keep the project goal in mind: if you make a wall hanging in 100% cotton, the corner to corner technique will sag and show holes because of the heavy weight. If you use very fuzzy yarn, the design lines will not pop as much as when you choose a sleeker yarn. It’s up to you, surprise yourself (and us )

The example blanket was made with Scheepjes Colour Crafter. Colour Crafter is a gorgeous budget yarn of 100% premium acrylic, very soft to the touch. It’s available in 93 colours and comes in big balls of 100 grams.

Tools: 4 mm hook for the blanket and 3,5 mm hook for the border. Scissors, darning needle, stitch marker (optional) and measuring tape (optional).

The example was made in 6 colours. Colour A: 3 balls brown 1054; Colour B: 3 balls eggplant 1246; Colour C: 1 ball moss green 1065; Colour D: 2 balls yellow 2004; Colour E: 2 balls orange 2002; Colour F: 1 ball dark orange 1723.
