Armwarmers are a lovely crochet project. Quick, fun, and not too complicated - this crochet pattern is my go-to when I have a leftover skein of soft yarn. This project/tutorial is adaptable, with enough structure to be seen as a pattern for beginners, but also with instructions for experienced crocheters to use as inspiration.
In this tutorial, I'll explain how to figure out the gauge for this project, provide a basic pattern for two different yarn weights, and share some ideas for creative extras. My favorite features of these arm warmers are that they are crocheted continuously in spirals, so you don't get a (ugly) seam. I also love the unique thumb opening, which gives a more streamlined fit at the base of the thumb.
200-300 meters of #4 or #5 weight yarn (1 pair of rainbow arm warmers were made with Yarn Bee Glowing, #4 weight yarn - with 181 meters of it. The Copper/olive/turquoise ones were made with 2 balls of Lion Brand Landscapes, #4 weight yarn, 100 grams / 134 meters per ball). The amount of yarn varies depending on the yarn weight and size you are making.
