Details
Regina Weiss writes beautiful crochet patterns for hippie clothing and accessories under the name Morale Fiber. Especially for Halloween, she designed this very cute (and handy!) Glow-in-the-Dark mushroom! This spooky little mushroom is quick and easy to make and has a secret compartment with a movable cap that is attached with a chain. The glow-in-the-dark yarn I am using here is super cool! It's from a company called Gert's Glow House. They don't always have it in stock, so you may need to look elsewhere. The specific gauge or tension is not very important for this project, so you can substitute the yarn for any other glow or neon yarn. There is a type of mushroom called Jack-o'-Lantern Mushroom (Omphalotus olearius) that actually glow in the dark. That's why I named this pattern like that in English, in Dutch I named it Glow in the Dark Mushroom.
3.75mm crochet hook
Gert's Glow House Glow-in-the-Dark yarn (50 grams, 4-ply fingering weight) - 1 skein
Yarn needle and scissors
Stitch marker
Gauge is not important
Note: The pattern uses 2 strands of yarn at the same time. So you will need either 2 skeins, or you can work from both ends of one skein, or split your skein. You will be working in rounds without joining with slip stitches, so mark the first stitch of each round to keep track.
