Who doesn't love trees? They are the most successful life forms on earth and also the lungs of our planet. They are majestic and sometimes dangerous, but I think we humans assign so much symbolism to trees as a concept because we project ourselves onto trees. The Tree of Life concept can be seen in many cultural stories. I got to know it through Yggdrasil, the Tree of Life from Norse mythology. The tree holds all worlds in itself, from its roots to its branches. I love this symbolism so much that I wanted to crochet my own Tree of Life.

4.5 mm crochet hook
#4 weight yarn in a solid color - I used Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton
#3 or #4 weight yarn in accent color - I used King Cole Riot DK for the rainbow tree and Malabrigo Rios for the autumn tree.
1 bamboo and wooden ring approximately 36 cm in diameter (e.g. an embroidery hoop from the craft store)
Scissors and tapestry needle.
