Details
Get to know the crochet pattern of sweater Signe, designed by teacher Sas. This is her third sweater, and after the pink and grey versions, she now presents a beautiful ice blue version. Sweater Signe combines the unique crochet patterns of the previous sweaters with the sizing of sweater Solveig. An interesting twist in this design is the use of back loops when crocheting the patterns, while the rest of the pattern is followed accurately. Both sweaters are brought together in one digital crochet pattern, available in Teacher Sas' webshop.
With sweater Signe and Solveig, teacher Sas has achieved two goals: crocheting a sweater with a Norwegian knitted look and creating a beautiful top-down sweater. In addition, these sweaters offer unparalleled comfort and a soft touch, thanks in part to the use of the delightful Amira yarn from Lang Yarns. For crocheting sweater Signe, teacher Sas needed almost 1600 meters of yarn, which is equivalent to about 15 balls of Amira. It is advisable to purchase 16 balls just in case, as Teacher Sas barely had enough with 15 balls.
Amira yarn from Lang Yarns is a true delight to crochet with, especially with crochet hooks of 5.5 and 6 mm. The beauty of a top-down sweater is that there are no seams, so after crocheting, you don't need to assemble anything, except for adding a label. During the crocheting process, you can try on the sweater regularly, so you can make a perfectly fitting sweater that is tailored to your body.
Before starting to crochet, it is important to thoroughly watch the accompanying video. In the video, teacher Sas provides detailed explanations of important aspects you need to know to customize the sweater and ensure that the seams come out nicely. The video complements the written and drawn crochet pattern and is designed to help you read crochet patterns, not to learn how to crochet.
The crochet pattern has been carefully written and drawn using Stitch Fiddle. In addition, Teacher Sas has made an informative video where she provides additional explanations. If you have questions, you can ask them in the Teacher Sas crochet and knitting Facebook group. Teacher Sas wishes you good luck if you decide to crochet one of these sweaters.
