Morale Fiber designs gorgeous patterns. This time she has designed a very fun large blanket that you can make from scraps. The message below is a translation of her original message, of course with the designer's permission. Happy crocheting! I recently tried to cram my yarn into a space to tidy up, while my friend Arika watched and had to giggle. That inspired me to use up some of my leftover yarn. We laid out a nice color sequence on the floor together and I got to work! I made an old motif years ago, which this round crocheted blanket is based on. It is crocheted with #4 weight yarn and I change color every (or almost every) row. It is inspired by a rainbow and great for using up cheap, bright acrylic scraps. They always end up in my stash, as I have the reputation of being a Yarn Orphanage! I named the blanket the Sun Dogs blanket, because of the optical effect you get when ice crystals refract light like a rainbow around the sun. It seems like a beautiful retro, prismatic showpiece, as a tribute to all the funky love blankets in the world, those blankets you take with you when you travel because they remind you of home. We had a fun impromptu Rainbow Sprite photoshoot with friends!
