Details
The mosaic technique is used for the Sea Crystals blanket. Even though mosaic crochet looks very complicated, it is certainly not. It's actually a surprisingly easy way to create colorful patterns using multiple colors.
A mosaic pattern consists only of single crochet and double crochet stitches. Slip stitches are added for the edge. Sounds simple right!?
With this blanket, all rows are crocheted from right to left. And attach a new thread to each row. This prevents annoying loops from forming on the back of the blanket. And don't be afraid of the amount of threads you see forming. These are concealed at the end between a double edge.
Are you new to mosaic crochet and double edging? No worries. With this pattern you will find a photo tutorial that explains the mosaic technique step by step.
The blanket I crocheted is approximately 100 x 150 cm. The pattern clearly describes how to adjust this to any desired size.
My blanket was crocheted with Hobbii Amigo (100% acrylic) and a crochet hook 4.5 and 4 mm. But of course it can be crocheted with any desired yarn.
